What type of foot drop do I have?

I show full strength when laying down and dorsiflexing left ankle with no resistance and against resistance but when putting my full weight on the heel the muscles in the back of my calf/knee seem to tighten down and I cannot hold my dorsiflexion.

I was never given a scale number 1-5 from my doctors like some have here. What do I have?

  • I've heard of "partial foot drop"... but not numbers or types... this would be a great question for your spine specialist or your physical therapist... if you don't have these two people, then I suggest making appointments soon. Best of luck!
33yo mom of two. My surgical history...preadolescence scoliosis, kyphosis, and a hot mess.... 5 spine surgeries and lots of items added I wasn't born with (titanium, peek, surgical steel). Guess cremation is out. TSA loves me.
