I know we are not physicians or medical professionals ( the moderators remind us of this fact all of the time) LOL

And our advice and suggestions to each other are just that! Friendly advice!

There are times we feel like we are the only people on earth that know what back or neck pain is like to experience, but then there is US!

How can you explain back pain or a shooting pain to someone else if they have never experienced it also?

I think all surgeons should have back pain if for only one hour LOL
Then we would have receive empathy from them,.

But then there is US! WE HAVE EACH OTHER! What a blessing!

Heres a funny for those who have ever experienced the "joy" of having an EMG for example.
My physiatrist told me that they have to practice doing EMG'S on EACH OTHER over and over again to learn how to do the test correctly.
I didn't feel bad for him when he told me this fact LOL

Anyway, no one is alone out there because there is always US to understand what we are going through and to know how the pain, numbness, tingling etc feel... and to know the feelings of frustration and despair.

We are here 24/7 so please post, someone's not sleeping

God bless and hugs always from

  • I do believe MDs should have back pain experience, most of mine come to the office from practice for their next triathlon, and I wonder why they have no idea what I am trying to communicate to them. DUH!
I once read a article about a nurse trying to teach new Drs about chronic pain. Each one would get a clothespin and told to pinch skin on the top of their hand with the pin and leave it there. She would then start her lecture, about ten minutes into her lecture she would ask how many where uncomfortable with the sensation from the pin. Most would say yes, and she would ask if they want to take it off, again they would say yes. She would respond " you can't! you can't remove chronic pain". I always thought that was a good lesson.

'& Sleep well', not even in my vocabulary any more. I am up and down all night.
  • Very well put!!!
It's just friendly advice and everyone here knows that we are not medical professionals. And that they need to consult with a doctor before trying anything.

I've learned a great deal about what's wrong with me. Still confused on some of it but learning more from the posts an articles.

I feel encouraged an hope I can encourage others at times.

Its nice having the board here an I can come night or day an see what's going on with everybody.

  • I couldn't agree more with you. I think about several of you throughout the day, even though I dont know you personally. It's good to talk, ask questions, get answers and share a laugh or two. I'm going to be gone for awhile, I'm moving and I will have to wait until I get internet before I can check in on u all....I will think of you all everyday and will be hoping that each and everyone of you has found some way to get some relief, even if it's just for a little while...btw, I will be bringing back some yoga mats and some compression socks for us all!!! Each of you please take care of yourselves...Bye for now :-)
  • You will be missed by your surgery buddies
safe trip and dont lift anything heavy with the move ( its tempting to do things we should not do)
    Bye for now
    Sending you prayers and hugs

When I first started coming to this site a couple of years ago looking for more information about what my MRI reports had found, I never thought I'd now be an active member of the forum. I really never did visit the forums much until earlier this year, and to be honest I have never been one who spent much time on forums, any forums..... That is until now.
I feel that just over the few weeks that I have been a member, I have come to admire each and everyone here. My heart goes out to everyone here because I know that our individual stories are different but we all share one common thread..... We all care about one another (y'all thought I was going to say something else...... :) ) because we all know what each other is going thru.

I just want to say that I pray for everyone here daily. I may not call you out by name but I do mention everyone here.

    Thank you to everyone here.
