ifuse surgery

hi.. my name is randy. my wife was scheduled to have ifuse surgery march 7. however, the dr called today to inform us that blue cross will not cover the claim. they say it is experimental.. can anyone shed some light on this??? we are from pa.

    I am not sure what type of surgery your wife is having. I live in NJ had my surgery @ Pennsylvania Hospital & have Blue Cross & Blue Shield. My neurosurgeon had to preauthorize my surgery. I had ACDF 2 levels with fusion. It might be they type of surgery or your medical contract is limited. I would call the insurance company & question them. BC/BS paid for all my surgery bills.
