C 3-4 ACDF next week.

Hello everyone. I'm new to forum. Would welcome some feedback on my getting a C 3-4 ACDF next week. Is a level 3-4 ACDF unusual? I have seen no posts regarding this level. Dr. says no pain relief from surgery, but necesary to stabilize spine. Does this sound reasonable?

  • Hi,
I had laminectomy and fusion C2 to T1 and the surgery did not restore the functions that the myelopathy affected, but it did restore the progression of the cervical disease. Wishing you the all the best.

There is a lot of Great Information on this sight so You have come to the right place. My surgeon had told me not to expect pain relief with fusion that it was to stabilize my spine. I was fortunate tho because I am on my 3rd neck surgery and I am finally feeling some Major Pain reduction. Everyone's spine is different and there are no two surgeries that are the same.

Good luck with your surgery and please keep us posted if you would like you can PM me with any questions.
