What are the odds that my rods and screws are causing severe pain?

Hello everyone. I had a spinal fusion of L4-S1 in 6/2008. The only thing that changed from this surgery was the fact that I stopped dragging my left leg. I am in worse pain than I was before I had it. I am on Charity Care with UAB and I don't know how to convince a doctor that I need to have these rods and screws removed. I was told that since the screws weren't coming loose that they wouldn't take them out. How do I make my case? I am in such pain. I've tried to start walking, but the pain is so much worse with me trying to walk.

Sometimes I just get to the point that I just want to lay down and go to sleep and not wake up. I just want to stop hurting. Please help me! Please! I'm desperate for help. Thanks in advance.
