Should I go through with back surgery?

I have Scheuermann's Kyphosis (degenerative disc disease) which pretty much means a rounded spine. I have a 74 degree curve on top, it isn't that noticeable until you get to know me. I kind of look like I'm slouching or lazy lol My question is whether or not I should go through with surgery? They would start at T2 and fuse a few discs and then bring a rod down to L2. I'm afraid I'm not going to be able to bend, which will make me lose my job. I'm only 24 so I don't want to do something I'll regret the rest of my life. Any opinions would be great!
