I am new to the forum, I have type 1 chronic modic disc changes
I had right l5/s1 discectomy last june which solved the sciatica pain ( i had on and off for 16 years)
Everything was good after surgery until i started back in the gym in september and then in october the pain was dreadful for months.
The pain has only started to reduce 3 weeks ago, since i attended a new physio who told me to stop exercise, walking and sitting for 2 long.. after other physio's told me to exercise !!!
she has been a great help recommending me with small exercises, insoles for my shoes and heat patches
I now have an episode of pain when i walk or sit for long periods of time ,ie over an hour.
If i go out shopping or do house work i am in total agony two days after, tears and cant move.
I wanted to speak to people who have similar experiences. My surgeon has told me my only option is spine fusion, but she said i will still be left with some small amount of pain.
I have also put on over two stone, due to now been able to walk or do any exercise :-(
I was really active upto 3 years ago :-(
Looking forward to chatting to everyone
