I have this upper back pain, from what I’ve been reading it looks like it’s related to my Thoracic. A little background, 33 years old, just ran a marathon 3 weeks ago and I lift weights about 4 times a week.
Pain in my upper left back, around my shoulder blade. Sometimes moves towards the spine and a little bit to the right.
Sometimes the pain is very sharp, like someone stabbing me. Other times it’s a burning feeling. Other times it’s extremely tight or has a bruise type feeling.
When it’s flaring up, my range of motion is limited. Hurts to lift my arms up, and to move my neck from side to side.
Hurts ONLY when I’m standing or walking for a period of time. It was hurting when I was sitting at my desk but I raised my chair and that seemed to fix the problem while sitting.
Seems to go away when I’m lifting weights, in a pool and running. No pain at all when I’m sitting comfortably, not moving or sleeping. I wake up and there’s no pain until I start getting ready and the pain slowly creeps in.
Also, what type of Doctor should I go to see about this? I’ve never had persistent back problems before.
