Spinal fusion recovery

  • I hadn't realised anyone else had posted on this thread until now .
Just reading everyone's story make me understand how everyone's pain journey is different .
I'm now 6 weeks out and still in bad pain .
Sciatic pain mainly now . Thought I was improving then about a week ago it' all seems to be going downhill .
I'd practically weaned myself from all meds but now back on tramadol and oxynorm and amitryptolin . Bad pain in buttocks and radiating down leg . It's so hard to be positive and upbeat when you're confined to your bed most of the time .
My surgeon just tells me to wait till my fusing happens and then he thinks pain will go as there is a bone spur hitting the nerve , for the life of me I don't know why they don't remove it when they're in there ! All in all feeling stuck and like I'm in retrograde . Trying to go back to sleep now after getting the boys out to school . Wasn't a happy morning as I was in pain making their packed lunches . Glad they got off ok ! Hope all of you are getting better and making a recovery . Z
