Root Nerve Block

edited 08/29/2015 - 7:51 PM in Spinal Injections
i have had my first root nerve block for a herniated disc l5/s1. the pain has increased in leg and lower back. i have more tingling and burning pain in left leg than i did before the injection. i thought i would try the injection before undergoing surgery to see whether the injection could help with the compression of the disc. has anyone experienced the same? if so, how long did the pain/tingling last? i'm starting to feel that i will have sciatica for the rest of my life and a bad back. i used to run 4/5 miles twice a week and now i'm unable to.
