hi i'm new on here and hoping someone can help me out! i was in a car accident in may(i t-boned someone who blew a stop sign) and have been in constant pain since. it feels like there is a constant pressure and burning sensation in my lower back that gets significantly worse when i sit and lay down. my xrays came back clean and they said i just had a lower back muscle strain/sprain. i did about 6 weeks if physical therapy. the pain got a little better but by the end of week six was back to being just as bad. my physical therapist told me to go back to the doctor if it wasn't better in 3-4 weeks. well it's been about 4 weeks and iv scheduled another doctors appointment. anybody experience something similar or have any guesses? i'm just getting nervous it's more than a sprain/strain because they insisted i would be ok by now :/ and advice is appreciated! thanks!

hello, i was in the same position 12-years ago at 20 years old and was in a cari accident. doctors told me it was the same condition as you. i have been in treatment since with nerve damage and bulging discs. if you already had an mri try one in a different position. mine laying down showed nothing but sitting showed the problems in my neck and back. so once again keep seeking the diagnosis maybe you wont end up like me.

  • Oh no, I'm sorry to hear that your Still having problems! I have not done an MRI yet, I go back to to see my doctor on the 5th. He blew me off my first visit so if things don't improve I am going to seek out someone els. But thank you so much for the advice, I myself am only 22 years old and want to to be able to get back to my normal life!

  • Hello! I have the exact problems that you went through. I hope you are well now!

I also t-boned a driver who ran her stop sign and its been three weeks since, I have been suffering from constant back pain and some days, upper back  & neck pain as well. My pain is a burning sensation in my lower back and a sharp pain in my upper back. My neck and shoulder muscles are still very stiff from the whiplash. I am having a hard time to properly sit or stand.

When I saw my Doctor, all she told me was to do careful excercises and to see a massage therapist. Iv only seen a massage therapist once. But I am planning to get a follow-up from my Doctor soon.
