Hi, I am new to this forum
I am a 63 year old South African female. On 23 January 2016, I will be 9 monts post Lumbar Spinal Fusion. It was a posterior fusion with instrumentation of L3/4/5, and they also used the Iliac crest on the left. The op was 3 hours long and I lost 5 units of blood. Post transfusion of 4 units of blood, I was discharged with an Hb of 8. I was very breathless on exertion until about November 2015.
I wake up during the night with pain, especially if I lie on my sides. In the morning I wake up with painful stiffness, which is relieved by getting up and moving around.
I need to start exercising as I need to strengthen my legs and core.
I would appreciate any advise and guidance. Thank you.Spinal Fusion Surgery Recovery: Three Months and After
