Removal of coccyx

I am booked in to have my coccyx bone removed on Tuesday morning. Surgeon thinks it has fused to bottom segment of my sacrum causing all the pain I have when sitting. Just wondering if any other members have had this surgery ? It didn't seem overly common. I know it can be a long recovery due to where the wound is and the need to not sit ans place undue pressure on it. Just after any tips or suggestions .
