Would like other's input please

Hi! My name is Sonya, and I'm new here. I'm a 58 year old female, diagnosed 16 months ago with: osteoporosis, spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease, prolapsed disc at L4-L5, disc between L5-S1 is just plain gone. I had an MRI done about a year ago, none since. I am on short term pain meds (nothing time released), and they seem to only work about 50% of the way through dosing times. I've had 3 epidural steroid injections that didn't help. I did have one SI injection that worked for about 3 weeks. At times I feel like my back is going to break in two, especially when it snaps, crackles, and pops at every move. The neurologist does not recommend surgery (I have other health conditions that could hinder recovery), and is saving surgery only as a no other option scenario. My pain management doctor suggested changing my meds to something more time released, but I have no idea how that works. On top of all this, I go in 1 week for an IME with FCE from a doctor my long term disability provider set up. I'm at a total loss. If anyone has anything similar going on, or any suggestions that I might try, please let me know. I've been through PT and my doctor said it hurt me more that helped me. Thanks for your time.
