  •  Well, it's been a long time since I had one. It was 10cm and spotted instantly. When the tech says "Whoa!", you take notice. It ruptured a week later and I had emergency surgery. All I can remember is sharp pelvic pain that made me double over.

Only your doctor can answer if the ovarian cyst is causing that pain. You can also look up symptoms online and discuss it at your next appointment. Do you have a history of back problems?

  • Adewey I have had a big cyst that caused back pain before my back pain was due to disc stuff. Are they going to do anything for it?
  • Hello, Adewey!

I have ovarian cysts and uterine fibroids, and in my research, I've found these issues can (but don't always) cause back pain.  The other members who responded are correct--it's time to talk with your doctor about what your options for treatment might be.

Like Meydey, I've also had ovarian cysts burst, and it is exactly as she described.  Unlike my poor friend, though, I did not have to have surgery!!  It was awful and painful, but not critical. Do you have fibroids, too?  When I wanted to learn more about uterine fibroids, I did find that they can sometimes cause sciatic-like pain depending on their size/location in the uterus.

It's tough to have multiple issues going on at once!  Hang in there, and let us know what happens, ok?
