Failed fusion with two broken screws

my husband is a disabled police officer. His first fusion in his neck went well in 2005. His back also well. In 2015 He fell and the hardwear collapsed in his neck , They had to remove everything and do a three level fusion. It's been a year and we just found out two screws are broken and the fusion failed. His left leg goes completely numb he has spasms in his hand, which he hasn't been able to use much since the surgery. He is allergic to all pain meds. They are going in a n the 17th to do another fusion and replace the broken screws.. I'm scared, will this work? Will he be ok?????
