T-12 to L4

Hello everyone,  I am new here.  I started this account for my boyfriend.  He had spinal fusion 2 weeks ago.  He is currently in rehab.  It hasn't been long, as I stated, 2 weeks post-op, but he doesn't exactly get straight forward answers from the Dr that visits.  I realize in the beginning straight forward answers aren't going to be easy to give, and everyone is different.  I just wanted to know from anyone's experience, how long do you need to keep going on the pain meds, and what is an estimated time when numbness in the legs begins to subside? I realize these are probably questions no one can answer.  I did read that healing can take up to 1-2 yrs.  Any words of encouragement would be great, and info as well.

Thanks!
