And I don't just mean with the winds and water. I have had a lot more pain the last few days. I know that school starting and having PT could be a large part of it, BUT I can't discount that weather just adds to it. At least it does the rest of the arthritis.

We have only gotten a little rain from it here in East Texas and most of the evacuees have left or will be leaving as soon as they are allowed back home. Glad it wasn't worse.

Anyway, my PT up my table exercises where I am laying on my back to 20 reps, but when I turn over we left it at 10. I don't do well. I did 8 minutes on the treadmill. I am so far behind everyone with my walking, hope I can soon catch up. I do "miniwalks" at school escorting the kids to the restroom and to the aide who takes them to lunch.

My pulse rate is down below a 100, but not down where it should be. In the "time before the surgery" it usually was between 55 and 65 now in the 90's. BP is also elevated. Sugar is the only thing that runs close to normal. And while I can normally keep emotions under control at school, at home and in the car is a whole different world. At least my daughter just over looks it.

Anyway, must get some sleep for tomorrow. Hope all are doing well.

  • I never really understood why people say the weather affects them-doesn't change anything for me.
  • I finally found a surgeon who admits that heredity and weather do play a part. My arthritis is so much worse when the weather is in a tail spin and we can trace my "bad" area back to my parents and grandparents. Both parents had bad backs, Dad had knees, hips (so far hips are the BEST thing about me), shoulders and hands.

The weather not only affects me, but the cats. The ones I have had who had arthritis were stiffer when the weather was coming in and these three - have been shedding like they have never done before.

Weather can affect all us in various ways. Said the lady with weather affected arthritis and temper. :))(
