I JUST FOUND THIS SITE TODAY, HOPEFULLY TALKING WITH PEOPLE WITH SOME SAME PROBLEMS WILL HELP! ON MARCH 6,2008 I HAD L-4,L-5 AND S-1 DISC REMOVED. THEY INSTALLED PLASTIC DISC FROM THE FRONT THAT IS HELD IN PLACE BY 8 SCREWS. MY PAIN IS NOT ANY BETTER SINCE SURGERY AND NOW L-3 DISC IS HERNIATED AND HURTING ALL THE TIME! I HAVE BEEN TAKING FACET AND EPIDURAL INJECTIONS WITHOUT ANY RELIEF! I ALSO TRIED NERVE BLOCKS WITH NO RELIEF. I LIVE ON MORPHINE AND PERCOCET THAT MAKES ME FEEL TIRED ALL THE TIME. FAMILY AND FRIENDS THINK ALOT OF MY PROBLEMS ARE IN MY HEAD,HA,HA. IF ANY OF THIS SOUNDS FAMILIAR ARE YOU HAVE ANY IDEAS FOR PAIN RELIEF,PLEASE BLOG BACK! THANKS,STAN

  • Hi and welcome to Spine Health. Sorry to hear that your ADR isn't all it's supposed to be and that you are having further problems. Have you gone to another surgeon for evaluation, or are you running into the "I won't touch another surgeon's work" syndrome?

  • :) hi and welcome to the forum! :H we are here to offer you support and answer what questions we can. i am sorry to hear you do not feel your surgery was a success. ~X( many of us live on pain meds. i don't know how i would have a life without them. don't let your family get you down. you know how you feel and it is real. good luck and i hope you are able to get some pain relief soon. take a stand if the injections are not working. :T the side effects of steroids can be very dangerous. take a look at the top of the forum under "Treatments" and read about injections. Jenny :)
  • If your surgeon won't order xrays or MRI see if your GP will and maybe get a referral to another surgeon. That's terrible you're family thinks that it's all in your head. Are you getting enough pain relief? Did you get any physio or pool therapy after surgery? I'm sorry, my family knows I'm sick and except for my Mother and brothers the rest of the family have not sent even a get well card or anything. I hope you're in the healing process and will get better. Take care. Charry

  • Yes all of it sounds familiar! I am lucky in that I have lots of family support but I see lots of people here that deal with the same attitudes as you do. Sorry that you must join the crowd but you will find lots of support here. Good luck on your quest for a nondrowsy form of pain relief.
