What kind of feelings did you have as your nerves healed and how long did they last? I have itching in my legs and cramps in my thighs. Anything I can do?

  • I believe nerve pain is more like a sharp or burning pain, I could be wrong tho. Maybe try heating pads, or a hot bath or jacuzzi. For the itching, maybe a good quality lotion?

Sorry I can't be more help.

  • I find that as my nerves heal the area related to them will itch like crazy, hurt when I go to scratch it and even feel like ice water being poured onto the area. The only thing I have found I can do about it, is laugh at myself for being stupid enough to scratch at it knowing that it will hurting if I can feel it. I have the left side of my scalp numb and it itches a lot. I go to scratch it and can't feel myself scratching it. Craziest thing ever.

can have various feelings. I know for myself, I have had
    nerve pain that is:
    1 - Sharp stabbing
2 - Dull aching like a bad toothache
    3 - Twitching
4 - The one I can never describe, but feels like things are moving up and down my legs or arms and the only way to get any relief is to walk around.

As far as how long your nerve pain will continue. Its such a difficult question to answer because there are so many variables. I can say that the longer a person had a disc that was impinging on a nerve root, the longer it will take to recover from this and not have nerve pain.

What to do now? With the cramping and aches in your legs and thighs, I would try to move around when this happens and use warm moist heat.

BUt really what to do? Discuss this with your doctor so that you know that you would be getting formal medical advice and not our personal opinions.

    Good luck
