Coping with spinal stenosis and need ideas
First of all, I’m a newbie so bear with me until I learn the ropes.
I am dealing with spinal stenosis that manifests itself as a sharp continual pain in my lower left abdomen. After many tests including X-rays, CTscan, MRI and even a colonoscopy no source of the pain was evident. Either the CTscan or MRI revealed severe stenosis. I have had many pain medications prescribed with no reduction of pain and some spinal decompression treatments, also with no relief. My pain first started about six years ago for no apparent reason. At first it was an occasional occurrence and the pain although tolerable was quite evident. Probably about a month after experiencing the pain, my primary physician ordered the above tests. With nothing evident except spinal stenosis, that has become the popular diagnosis by 2 primary care physicians, a rheumatologist and a chiropractor. As 6 years have passed, the abdominal pain has become more severe and exists virtually all the time. None of my physicians have ever mentioned nerve block or epidural injection procedures. I will not consider surgery because of my age (71).
Anyone out there ever had similar stenosis problems that were successfully treated with nerve-block or epidural injection therapy?
Anyone out there have suggestions of treatments that I should discuss with my primary physician at my next appointment?
Thanks for listening.
