Hi, I am new to this site. Also, I very recently moved from New Jersey to suburban Detroit, Michigan. I was hoping to find information on this site to make it easier for me to find a competent physician in Detroit area for continued treatment of my chronic pain, which is due to first having 2 cervical surgeries (with hardware) with tremendous scarring, followed by not 1 but 2 car accidents in which I suffered whip-lash as I was rear-ended both times, leaving me with spinal stenosis and bulging disc at c2-c3 in addition to my previous post-surgery issues, along with constant nerve pain and debilitating headaches.
Anyway, I have been treated (very successfully) by my former NJ doctor who wrote me 3 prescriptions for 90 days treatment of MS Contin 100MG 3x3 per day (9 total - yes I realize it is high does, but taking since 2002 - have had same dosage for 3 years). Without prescription, I am not able to work, walk, talk, type, function due to debilitating pain in my hands, arms, neck, back, shoulders, head, surgical sites etc. With it, I am able to function and lead a very productive life.
Now, I am caught in a dilemma. I have tried to go to several physicians locally in Detroit to have as my new doctor. However, all of them are apprehensive to assist me and write me a new prescription (which mine is set to run out by this Saturday morning), which is upsetting to me, especially since I have tried on several occasions the past month to take care of this ahead of time.
Anyway, if anyone has name and other contact information regarding any physician they know that will assist me, please let me know. Thank you very much to anyone who can help out here.
