Spinal cord Simulator or Stimulator?

CMatthewCCMatthew Posts: 49
My surgeon had talked to me last week about going to a pain clinic, or seeing a different neurologist for a different opinion. I'm up for either seeing as I have been in tremendous pain ever since I had hurt myself at work back in June 08'. He had also mentioned if the pain clinic doesn't work in like 6-8 weeks that he would try going the route of a Spinal cord Simulator or Stimulator I'm not sure as to which he said but he said it's somewhat like a pace maker for the back and I was wondering if anyone out there either has one and could give me feedback or has heard of one. He said the only downfall is that I could never have a MRI due to the fact that I have that implanted and there is metal in it. Before it is implanted they would have to give me a surgery anyway to clean up what they can in my back which is a couple stress fractures and shave some bulging discs. So I'm curious to hear from someone who has one or knows about them to get the do'd and dont's about it. Sorry so long and thankyou for reading.
