MRI- closed vs open

Has anyone had both types of mri's ? I have had two open mri's(due to claustophobia)on my cervical spine a few months apart last year. I recently had a closed mri because I was wondering if there were things it was not finding.

Now the closed mri did seem to paint a worse picture, but I am not sure if things just progressively got worse over the past 7 months since my last mri.

I was told by a couple of medical professionals that the closed mri does give a better picture but I am not sure that is true. Has anyone had experience with this?
