I hope some of you may know what this means and can help me understand if this may be causing some or most of my severe pain.
I just had an MRI done on 3/18 by request of my PM doctor (who was referred to me by my OS). When the PM doctor called to discuss the results with me he said it doesn't show a whole lot accept that the C6 screws may be in too far and pushing on my spine. He actually agreed with me that I should not have any more procedures (SNRB and trigger point injections) done with him. These only appeared to make my pain worse.
He said that since my OS referred me to him that he had to be careful on what he said but basically he told me to get a second opinion from a Neurosurgeon and even gave me the name of the one he would recommend "if I was one of his family". I advised him that I need to see my original OS this Tuesday and he told me to see what he had to say and ask him what he thinks of a second opinion. Here is part of what that portion of the MRI says:
"The C6 screws extend to the posterior cortex and result in ventral indentation of the thecal sac at this level"
It also states:
"For reference, there is AP reduction in the thecal sac to 11mm at the mid C6 vertebral level and for reference, the normal AP diameter of the thecal sac measures 14mm elsewhere in the cervical region."
As most of you know, the whole report is 5 pages and there is a lot more said but this appears to be the most concerning.
Please let me know if any of you know if this is a major concern or even just your thoughts on this matter. I would appreciate anything you all have to say.
Sorry for such a long post.
Thanks so much for listening!
