Sense of taste and smell turned up

I know this is realy way off topic but, has anybody noticed that their sense of taste and smell has improved.
One of the first things I noticed after recovery last week that did not have anything to do with back and leg pain was that my sense of smell was very acute. With my first meal I found my sense of taste to be way up. The bite of jello tasted like i had just bitten into jell concentrate. The half spoon of sugar in the tea tasted like a pound of sugar in concentrated tea.
Toasted or roasted foods taste almost burned and a little pepper on a slice of beef tasted like blackened filet.
I can smell the fragrances in the soaps as though i were in a vat of it. I could smell the different raw meats my wife had in the grocery bags and the frozen bay peas smelled like I just shelled them.
Just wondering.
