Hi, all! I am a busy homeschooling mommy of 3 wonderful boys. I was an LPN until I became unable to work. I am currently 3 months post op discectomy, fusion with all the bells and whistles (Rods, screws, bone from my hip, artificial bone, ect) L3-5. My surgery was 1-7-2009. My original injury was in April of 2008 when I was injured by a patient. Before surgery I tried PT and spinal injections neither of which helped at all. Immediately after surgery and for several weeks I felt post op pain but all my nerve pain was gone. It was great. I thought the surgery was a great success! But a few weeks after surgery it all came back. I think its even worse now. I've gotten so depressed I'm even seeing a psychiatrist now. My nerve pain is in my entire left leg and foot, my right thigh, my right foot,in my hips, and occasionally groin and my right calf. My back is still tender with spasms and alot of pain but I would expect that more than the nerve pain. All my pain except my back of course is in the front of my body. I really thought I would be better by now, at least improved. I have been in water therapy with heat and stim for six weeks and I'm as active as I can be despite pain. I've had 3 incidents that I've lost all feeling in my legs and fell so I had a repeat MRI yesterday, but was called today and told it was fine (the MRI felt like an EMG BTW OUCH!). So I'm at a loss. I really feel defeated. I feel like it will be this way forever. If you've made it this far thank you for reading!!
