Hi everyone,
I have just now stumbled upon this site and am hopeful in finding some info about SI joint fusion.

I have Legg Calves Perthes disease of the rt hip resulting in a total joint replacement at the age of 34 I am now on hip #3 and have had this latest one in now for almost 8 years.
I walk with a trendelenburg gait and this had of course taken a toll on my back. I have had a fusion of L4/5 due to disc degeneration and nerve compression etc. I utilize a pain patch and have also in place a SCS implanted on the upper rt buttock area. Soon to be relocated to the left abdominal area.
I have quite severe arthritis in my right SI joint my surgeon tells me. I titrated down from 75 to 25mcg of Duragesic but by the 6th day of being on the 25s, I awoke with such SEVER pain in the SI joint area that I can not begin to explain just how severe in nature it was....I shutter now just thinking about it. Anyhow thus my question about SI joint fusion....

  • hi and welcome to the forum! :H we are here to offer you support and answer what questions we can. i do not share your problems but we do have pain in common. ~X( there is a good "Artritis" forum you might check out.. good luck with your future pain treatments. :D Jenny
  • I am sorry to hear of your suffering. My niece has SI joint arthritis and I know that it is quite painful. It seems as though the Duragesic patch helps your pain quite a bit. Maybe it would be a good idea to stay on the higher dose? Sorry that I don't know any better answer for you. I wish you luck and please keep us posted with your progress.
