Hi there,

I'm Steve and I'm 42 & I live in Worcestershire, England. I've had back problems since accident in 1994. I've been having facet injections for the last 8 years. I've also been on Tramadol for 8 years also, but I'm nearly always sick when I take it so try not to use it as it only managed to take the edge off the pain when I did take it. My neck constantly clicks, my back clicks when I raise my legs to put socks on. Recently I've started to experience alot more problems. My legs and arms are numb, they're weak and tremble most of the time. I have terrible migraines, blurred vision and dizziness. Numbness and tingling on face and head.Back in the early days I was dealt with by military doctors who did discogram & and MRI over a period of months. I was told it was spondylosis, degenerated discs and deteriated facet joints. I got sick of going to the doctors over the years and just resigned myself to a life of pain. I've recently moved to another doctor who is really great, although she did scare me yesterday by trying to get me to hospital immediately to see a neurosurgen after some tests. Big neurosurgeon at Birmingham QEH said that it wasn't that urgent but I'm now on a list to see a specialist. Does this mean I could be sorted soon?

  • :H Hi Steve,
I think that although surgery is scary if it is something that your docters think can drastically improve your life you should seriously consider it.
It sounds like your back problems are a lot worse now than just pain and the longer you wait the worse it could possibly get.
Good luck to you in whatever you decide. Please keep us posted.
You have my thoughts and support!
