Hi I have been reading posts on this site now for a very long time as had become a candidate for surgery.

I had on the 14th May TLIF Surgery , L5-S1 disk removal, nerve root decompression, and stabillastion using instruments etc.

the kept me in hospital for 7 days so have just recently come out ( 3 days ago ). But since the surgery I have had a really bad headache on the left side of head.

None of the meds seem to touch it when I am lying down it eases slightly but if I am up on my feet or sitting for more than 10 mins it feels like head is going to explode.

I told the doctor, surgeon, nurses but nobody has seemed to have taken any notice. Starting to get a little worried now as passed out yesterday when going to the toilet as pain in my head beacame really bad and am having like hot sweats aswell.

Any answers.

  • Go to the ER now. Do not pass go. Do not sit here on the boards asking us what to do. Do not drive yourself to the ER. This sounds harsh but you passed out and then still didn't go to the ER???? You need to go! Could be lots of things including a dural tear but other things too. Please post an update after you come back home so we hear how you are doing.
