I am awaiting approval from insurance for the trial procedure. The doctor didn't tell me how extensive the recovery process will be for the permanent procedure (I was so overwhelmed I forgot to ask). From what I have been reading it sounds pretty difficult. My surgery would be a bit different than most in that the leads are not going to be placed in the spinal canal, they will be placed directly where it hurts on each of my shoulders. So I guess my question is where does most of your post surgical pain come from? Is it where the leads are placed? Where the wires come down to meet the battery pack? Or where the battery is implanted. I am just trying to figure out if recovery will be as difficult for me since my procedure is a bit different and how long I can expect to miss work. Any info is much appreciated! I am new to the community and have found these forums to be very helpful. It's amazing finding people who can identify with your pain.
