I went to my first PM doc appt today and he recommended three rounds of epidural steroid injections. He says I have a 75 percent chance of them working for me. He said my disc/neck problems isn't good for someone of 27. He briefly described the procedure and how they would do it there with an x-ray and numb up my neck and that it takes about 10 mins. He said the nerve blocks and triggers are like hitting your funny bone and treating the pain from your pinkie finger but not treating the elbow which is the cause IE the disc, when I told him about my neuro's injections.
I am getting a lot of anxieties over this , my mom doesn't want me to do it because she is scared . For those that have had them done are they worth it? Have you had an major problems or side effects? And what should I expect with the procedure and after it? How long did they last? Did they give relief that was well worth it, or not much more than meds, pt, or triggers?
I see my neurologist tomorrow, so I am going to ask him about it, but I want your guys opinions/experiences.
My problems are in my sig.
I am so scared
