Hello everyone! I went to the doctor this week and had an xray to see how things are progressing. He said that I look exactly how I should at this point in recovery. He said that my 2 facet joints have begun regrowth and are doing nicely. He removed the hard plastic shell to my back brace and lifted my sitting restriction from 30 to on hour. everything else stays the same--no bend, lift or twist.
I had pushed my walking up to 3 miles a day but he told me to not go over that because that may overdo and overdoing is as bad as not doing at all.
i am pleased with my progress. I was really scared that I would go in and not be fusing due to my one bad habit but, all is going well so far. I hope to continue going this well. The walking has really made a difference in my pain level and my endurance overall. So glad I purchased the treadmill. It is entirely too hot down here to attempt outside walking.
I have also been doing some swimming--mostly just lightly kicking around in the pool. I really believe all of my activity is what is helping me heal in spite of the terrible smoking.
Anyway...jsut wanted to update. Hope everyone is well today
