Just need to vent!

I am still struggling and need a safe place to vent today!

I recently saw my spine doctor, who decided I was walking better. The assessment was done on a few paces in the door.
Sadly I am not sure myself - I feel like my wobble is more exaggerated than before and my pain, although varies through the day is mostly not managed and I get breakthrough. Sadly the PM doc was not there and I needed to rebook - OCTOBER! Can you believe that?
My family doctor is chasing it now.
I sensed the spine doc doesn't really know what to do with me now. I hope I am wrong.

I am getting new spasms in my front thigh now and sense my foot numbness is spreading. I am not at all sure what to make of any of this anymore. Every day is a pain endurance test and everyday I ignore many strange symptoms all related to my spine and nerves. I never know which ones are important or not and now feel after all this time kinda feel numb to it all. Oh well.

Anyway, spine friends, just needed a place to vent. TY.

  • I'm sorry that you're frustrated and you get the feeling that your doctor is giving up. Back pain can be so ambiguous and hard to nail down. Did you mean you family doctor is going to help you until you get in with PM in October? Are you going back to the spine specialist later on and are you currently taking medication? Hang in there >:D<
  • Hope you feel better soon.

I know how you feel about the PMs not knowing what to do with you/us/me...

I have had two quick talks with mine since the scs was implanted. I only see his PA who does the adjustments etc,

Saturday I got a letter approving ONE out of network visit to my PM! ONE! This is a recent change as he was INnetwork so I'm wondering what will change in my post surgery care?!

It is all so insane sometimes.
  • The world is changing. Insurance is changing. Doctors are changing. I'm having some of the same issues. Just had a procedure turned down by Blue Cross.

You've really been through the ringer. I'm so sorry for everything you've had to endure and would say to you, vent on! Wow, I think maybe I "coined" a new phrase! VENT ON! That's what we are here for. We've all seen new lows with back surgery.

Keep us up-to-date. I pray that things get better for you. In the meantime, vent-on!
  • nice to have someone to vent to that understands. Hang in there. Thinking about you and hope things get better soon

That has to be very frustrating. It would be very interesting to know what the doctor saw in your walk that they were pleased about. That is something they should be sharing with you.
I dont know if I read your post incorrectly, but you are not going back to the doctor until October?
If you are uncertain about the walk test that was done, you should do what is necessary to get something scheduled sooner.
Never worry about venting, especially when the venting is done in a very understandable way

I am now approaching this whole back thing differently.

Have decided it is My personal endurance test and one that I am going to win. mentally this is helping me lots. I have found the fight again!
    Thanks friends.
  • I think that is a good strategy.

  • A positive attitude can go a long way helping us in our spiney journeys. It's not a cure-all, but it can be better than medicine.

Keep up the good spirits and I'm sending you a gentle hug.

  • I would suggest you to keep your spirits up. Also, keep calling every day to see if there has been a cancelation @ the Drs' office. Maybe they will take the hint, that you really want and need to be seen sooner. That is the best I can do, but to wish you Good Luck. Keep us posted. Keep being your own advocaticate. Best Wishes, BTDT
