NSAIDs and acetaminophen are easy to come by (over-the-counter) and are prescribed by many doctors. Also, many times these are effective for pain management. However, they can have adverse effects on your heart, kidneys and/or liver if used long term (what is considered long term use, by the way? and does anyone know the statistics on the percentage of people that suffer from organ trouble??).
What are the medications that can be used to effectively treat chronic back pain, sciatica, etc. that *do not* have any material effect on your internal organs? Are there any? If you list any, please list the alternative primary negative side effect that the medication may have instead.
