Just got home from appointment with a neurosurgeon. Very discouraging. About 6 months ago, I started having bouts of hip pain on my right side. It would come and go, so I felt that it was nothing to worry about, as I was in a rear end car accident 3 years ago which injured my pelvis and hips, and was told that I would suffer this the rest of my life. Okay.
Three months ago, the pain stopped being "bouts" and went to chronic pain. Being in constant pain is no fun, add to it not sleeping due to the pain, etc, I decided it was time to do something. So I went to a chiropractor.
Xrays, popping, and a heel lift later, my pain was worse. Radiating down my leg, numbness, pins and needles, stabbing sharp pains. Ick. I decided to go to my regular doc. She had me do an MRI. MRI results were mild bulging discs, possibly causing nerve damage, and mild DDD. Waited two weeks to see the neurosurgeon. He looked at the MRI, did a few simple tests. Told me I would need to see a doctor at spinal clinic and probably have "pain management shots" given to me, because my back is fine, must be my pelvis and hips.
HUH?????? All this?? So now what? I have another 10 day waiting period to see the spinal specialist. I am going to explode in pain and lack of trust and confidence in doctors. Anyone have any experience with something similar?
