Went to the Neuro today for x-rays and post op
He seemed a little alarmed about this nerve pain shooting down my left arm. He put me on lyrica and scheduled a ct for next week . at least 4 more weeks off work and hopefully starting pt next week. Anyone on lyrica or has taken it ???? I was just wondering about that drug or anyones experiance with that bed nerve pain in the arm.

  • Lyrica seemed to help my leg and foot pain about 40%. I felt very sleepy and memory wasn't as sharp but it did help me but was on the max dose before I started Cymbalta which seems to help a bit more. I had a big weight gain while on lyrica and puffy legs and feet where I couldn't even get my shoes on. The water pill helped for awhile with the swelling but now that I'm off lyrica I lost 25lbs in less than 3 months. A lot of people don't have any symptoms but it was worth taking it for over a year until I started Cymbalta. I hope it helps your pain also. Charry

  • I have taken Lyrica twice. My dr gave me samples for 2 months. It really worked well for me. My nerve pain lessened a lot, and I could do things I hadn't done for a long time. When the samples ran out, my ins wouldn't cover it. It was $140.00 a month, which I couldn't afford. This was when it was first developed. I tried it again two years ago, different ins co. still $50.00 co-pay. Again it helped my nerve pain. I started feeling better in about 3-4 days. Unfortunatly after 3 months, I had gained 15lbs. And being a type 2 diabetic, and was overweight to start with, I had to stop it again. That was the only side effect I had from it...made me crave carbs.chips, cookies, cake, chocolate, fries, etc. :D It's certainly worth a try. I take neurontin instead now, which helps some, but not as good as the results I had with the Lyrica..

    Hope this helps.
