Has anyone had this happen to you after a lumbar fusion the pain just started between my shoulders& neck a few days ago and now I am worried that something else is wrong now. I have to go to my pain dr tom. for steroid injection. Will call my DR. today that did the surgery and see what he says.Neck is getting stiff and so are my shoulders.

  • I hope things settle down for you soon. I also have been through what you have and every now and then I get horrible pain between my shoulder blades which seems to last for days and I can't even get my pain meds to help with it. Heating pad helps some but the Dr says its spasms in my upper back. Perhaps that is the samething you are going through and not something else.
Good luck and keep us posted.
  • I've had the same issues off and on with my shoulders since my lumbar surgery. I think for the most part it is muscle spasms because I hunch my shoulders up when I walk too far, when I get tired, or my pain level increases.
