I just wanted to get a lil information from ppl who have had their hardware removed. Did it help with the pain or make any difference at all? Any info would be great.

  • I had my hardware out for a two level fusion, two weeks ago. Dont know yet if it has helped or not..I think I can start to feel some differenc, but not real sure. Sorry I cant help you. My fusion was Dec 2008, so I was only 9 months post fusion.
  • How did they figure out that it was the hardware that was causing your pain? Did it look OK on MRI or Xray?
  • injections on the screw heads under flurascope. he said if the pain was gone, that it was probably the hardware causing my pain. It didnt hurt after the injections. So I am hoping that it is the case. Right now I am still healing from the surgery. So time will tell.
  • Doesnt know for sure, The pain clinic doctor said he could do the injections over the screws but since it wasnt really something that could only aero in on one spot, they couldnt really be sure if it was the hardware for not. I'm definitely not up for more injections if I dont have to. Therefore, my surgeons gonna go in and look around and if the bone is solid enough, he'll take the hardware out to see if that stops the pain. If not I guess the next step would be a scs. I am 15 months out from my fusion.
