Degenerative Disc Disease throughout my lumber spine

Hi Everyone I had a recent MRI and showed DDD throughout my lumber spine. My herniated disc has resolved but still continue pain in my lower back. Has anyone had to have fusion or other treatments that would help. If so what has helped your pain? I see the Neurosurgeon next week and now that my herniated disc was no longer seen I have pain and take the same meds to help but my Primary Dr. said they probably wouldn't do surgery now. I can't imagine having this pain for longer. My job is going to be ended in February as they have kept it for almost 2 years being on LTD. I'm concerned if I didn't have surgery if I could ever work again. Thanks. Charry
DDD of lumbar spine with sciatica to left hip,leg and foot. L4-L5 posterior disc bulge with prominent facets, L5-S1 prominent facets with a posterior osteocartilaginous bar. Mild bilateral foraminal narrowing c-spine c4-c7 RN

  • Is it possible that you have facet joint problems? They should show up on an MRI if you do, so I'm wondering if there's anything in the MRI that mentions them.

I have a diffuse disc bulge at L4/5 and facet joint problems above and below as well. The facet problems are causing severe lower back pain, as well as pain in my hips. The facet joint injections helped me for about five to six weeks.
