I went to the NS yesterday and the xray shows that after only 3 weeks one of the two disc spaces are already starting to fuse (l5-s1) WOW!! l4-l5 has a cage and my NS said it would take longer to start to show signs of fusion as the l5-s1 space was packed with bone without a cage. Everything hardware-wise looks great. I have left leg, hip and groin pain but it still early in my recovery. I follow up again in 3 weeks. I am STILL so swollen from my belly down to my tip toes- and no one seems to know why????? I am suppose to hear today regarding my appointment to see a hymotologist regarding my blood issues. (please note that my blood level are not related to my surgery) My NS does not think the swelling is from my surgery. We will see what happens.

May your day be blessed beyond your imagination!!~

  • Well that's good news for L5/S1. Hope your doctor and haemotologist can help you with your blood and swelling issues soon - you must be so uncomfortable.

  • That is wonderful news! Have you been walking a lot? Taking Vit C? What's your secret? I can't wait to see if I have any signs of fusing when I go in for my X-rays on Nov. 9! I feel really good now and am only taking Tylenol before bed to help with the pain. I am eating almonds, oranges, cheese, & drinking milk as much as possible! I want my bones solid! Continue to get better!

I hope your swelling/blood issues are resolved soon.

    Take Care,
