Over the past several years I have had a mirad of surgeries on my neck and back. My cerivical spine is fused all of the vertebreas are fused. I am increasingly aware of numbness and sharp shooting pain on my right side. I no longer sleep on my right side as I wake up completely numb and sometimes paralyzed. I recently discovered a large lump on the bottom of my right foot. I haven't been to the doctor recently because I was told I need to think about something else other than these symptoms. I also have been having issues with my eyesight. If I turn my head quickly or look down and then look up real fast my eyes seem to get hung up and I can't see or focus for a few seconds it is becoming frequent. I do take medication for pain. Darvon 65mg 6 times a day and hydrocodone as needed. I also am having a hard time swallowing again. I didn't for a while after the last surgery but it is becoming more prevelant. Help!

  • If you have a doc that is encouraging you to ignore the symptoms that you are describing than please think seriously about getting a new doc.

Have you seen a Pain Management doc yet? These symptoms seem like they could be quite serious and deserve being chcked out by a medical professional.

Remember that all docs are not created equal. Just because they have the title dose not mean that they know what they are doing.

I hope that you get some answers and some relief soon.

    Please keep us posted.
  • I can't agree more with J.J.!!!! Ignored symptoms?!?!?! That would set my alarms off big time! My NS is fussy about meds, and when my fussy body has issues, initially he does take the "it wasn't my meds that did it" approach. Once he realizes that *my* body did have issues, of course he settles down. Wwwwiiiittthhh that said, he has NEVER ignored my symptoms. I too would look for another doc to see what is going on. Take care. :-)

    Welcome aboard!!!

  • I also agree with JJ. Get a new doctor asap because your symptoms need to be investigated asap!
