Hi everyone, I would really welcome any info about this as I am pretty scared. I recently had a myelogram with a CT scan afterwards. Most of what was in the report was expected - herniation, cord flattening, disc bulging, etc.. This was not expected - "There are multiple anterior extradural infections on the thecal sac at the 8T-9T level".

I have not had any major surgery on my back yet. I have only had an ESI, nerve block, nerve ablation and facet block.

I don't know anything about this and can't seem to find anything online that I can understand. Most everything I am reading is about post-op infections. If anyone can help with info I would really appreciate it. Thanks

  • Ok, after doing a little more reading I am wondering if these "anterior extradural infections on the thecal sac" are what is referred to as Epidural Abscesses?

Has anyone had epidural abscesses after injections, blocks or RF ablations?

Any info will be greatly appreciated.
