I recentely had new cervical and lumbar MRI's. New NS said ACDF immedietely, which I had done on 3/10/10. He was also consulted about the epidural fibrosis at my lumbar fusion site which is causing constant radiating leg pain, weakness and incoordination. He told me there wasnt anything he could do for this because any removal would just cause more scar tissue to occur. He did recommend that the SCS may be a good option to try, but he doesnt do them, he prefers the PM doc to do them. He disagrees with my PM in that the PM wants to do EPI's first (which have failed in the past), then rhyzotomy, then lysis of adhesions, all before the SCS. NS says none of those things are likely to work in my case and they are all very painful procedures and I should go straight for the SCS which will cover mutilevel. I will have the NS put his recommendations and reasonings in writing for the PM but I dont know what he will say.
I was just wondering for those with epidural fibrosis that eventually go to a SCS what was the process, did you need to do those other things first?
