I'm not sure where to put this and hope that everyone sees it as a recent post. Here's my question:
What do you do when you catch your doctor making a mistake on test results? I had a CT in May and the surgeon looked at the images and recommended surgery. He wanted a more recent MRI and injections first to pin point and confirm the pain source.
I just had the MRI and the report says there is nothing there??? When I asked the neurologist (his office did MRI) how severe arthrosis and a bony ridge on another vertebra goes away in two months he had no answer. He's going to ask the radiologist to review the CT report and the films again(my suggestion). His suggestion was to have another CT done (had one 2 months ago).
Since the surgeon looked at the CDs and didn't rely on the report I am pretty certain that the problems were and still are there. The pain has only increased along with my meds since then. So how do you handle catching a problem like this? I felt so awkward on the phone pointing this out to the neurologist. And now I am wondering if I can trust anything that he or the surgeon says to me in the future. Any thoughts?
