question about numbness after fusion

My husband had anterior/posterior spinal fusion (two level)with bone graft (his and donor) along side a spinal decompression L4-S1.
My question is about numbness. There is a patch of thigh (left which is same side as graft) that is numb but more worrisome is the numbness in the buttocks and (um sorry so blunt) anus. Anyone have experience with this? His follow up is not until Wed (2 week post-op) and I am just curious if anyone has encountered this issue or know if it is something that will go away- and yes there is an issue with bowel movements that was not there prior (could be oxycontin? and oxycodone related) on Mirolax 2 times daily and stool softener 3 times daily. He came home with a catheter due to bladder not emptying. He is due to have that removed this week to see if his bladder woke up.
Whew! who woulda thought I would be asking anyone such personal questions. Thanks in advance.
