Hi I went to A+E last night as someone suggested I might be having mini strokes or TIAs due to me going lightheaded, weird electrical jumps in my brain and tingling in my feet and hands. I was SO SCARED. But would you believe it, in front of docs I couldn't even bring on a single lightheaded episode. I felt 100% embarrassed. I was turning my head left right left right, up down up down like someone demented and not even a weeny bit of lightheadedness came. No tingling. No electrical brain jumps. Nothing. Then I got really angry inside myself. I'd been having these symptoms all day for three days. The doc did so many tests to check my reflexes and co-ordination etc etc but I was unable to bring anything on. I went to bed happy but puzzled. However today they've all come back with a vengeance. I went to church, tilted head and lo and behold my brain "jumped, pause, jumped, pause", felt very lightheaded, got same tingling back in toes and hands. All these episoded last only a second, maybe two. Then if I keep my head very very still I get no more. I've just got back from town and every flippin time I seemed to slightly move my head back they came on and it was HORRIBLE. Can ANYONE please throw a light on what may be happening here please? I'm soooooo confused, worried and angry it didn't happen in front of the doctor. I really feel it's some nerve compression rather than mini strokes but why did this all stop last night??? Sorry about such a long letter! Thanks again, Sarah x PS I'm not on any anxiety or depression medication.

  • It is very frustrating initially trying to get a diagnosis. Have you called your primary care doc? I would think that is the best place for you to start this investigation of your symptoms.
