Little over 3 months post op ALIF and still feeling awful! P/t is really not getting me to next, I'm paying out of pocket for sessions and I'm wondering what else might help, low back pain, hips, buttocks & leg pain. I know my muscles, or what's left of them are weak, but I'm frustrated with slow progress! I have both muscular & nerve pain. Trying to reduce narcotic pain meds, prolonged effects are taking their toll & causing more issues. Why keep taking so much oxy, when I'm still in pain???

Someone (my bladder rehab doc) mentioned to me cold laser, prolotherapy, and aquatic therapy. Has anyone tried any of these and had good results? I would love to hear your experience! Good, bad & ugly. I was told prolotherapy is a bit painful and you can not be on any pain meds, is this true?

I still can't drive, due to pain, very limited range of motion, leg weakness, nerve issues and the amount of meds (I think I'd get arrested for dwi, and don't want to jeopardize my safety or others).

I'm still unable to return to work (on STD) can not perform ADL's.

I guess I'm chasing what we all are ..... a bit of a cure!

ESI from 12/7 had offered no significant relief.

I just purchased some natural anti inflammatory supplements, Boswellia Serrata extract.....anyone tried this? Any help? Doc told me its not contraindicated with the loads of rx meds I'm currently taking.

Open to any & all suggestions.

Thanks for listening.

Hope all well and wish everone some pain relief.

  • Hi I've had six Prolo sessions since April and I can vouch for their effectiveness. Most doctors are unaware that Prolo exists so I'm surprised that a doctor that does not treat with it has suggested it.
There is a very good video on Prolo, go to Youtube
    and search on "Prolotherapy Lecture".
Yes, anti-inflammatories should not be used after receiving Prolo injections.
If you need more info feel free to PM me.
  • I will check out the YouTube.
I'm glad the therapy has been effective for you!
I'll let you know if I have any questions.

Has any one tried the cold laser therapy?? Just curious! Thanks.
