I have been dealing with severe to mild shoulder pain for the last 6 months. It has gotten increasingly worst up till now. Mussle relaxers don't help but they do help at getting me to sleep. I just tried a 5mg Oxycodone and it has cut the pain in half sort of.

Alcohol does not work either! Darn!!

I just bought a Infrared Light therapy device as a last ditch effort to beat this URL Removed

I dont know how well that will work???

What is the best kind of doctor to go to for the diagnosis of Fibromyalgia????

If I didn't have my shoulder pain I could get on with my life college is so impossible with this!!

-Problems
-Grade 1 retrolisthesis at l5-s1 w/disk bulge @6mm, disk bulge at l5-s1.
-Loss of curve in l,t,c spine
-Severe shoulder pain!!!

  • what is the best doctor to go to the see if you have
    Fibromyalgia?

    -Problems
    Retrolisthesis @l5-s1 w/ disk 6mm bulge, l4-l5 disk bulge
    -Loss of curve throughout spine
    -chronic shoulder pain
  • Have your doctor diagnosed it or are you just guessing. I say this because I had a lot of unrelenting pain and very limited movement in my shoulder that went on for several months. Doctor sent me to physio and that made it even worse. One thing that did help the pain was ice. I finally went to a specialist and he gave me a shot of cortisone. It gave almost instant relief and four years later, I am just fine but I do watch what I do with my shoulders.
  • The best doctor I think is a Rheumatologist because they diagnose and treat fibro as well as other diseases such as RA, Lupus, etc. I also agree that getting an official diagnosis is very important since this pain can be horrendous. I flare up regularly and this really impacts my life. In between flares I feel alive but am living on borrowed time til the next time.

If you choose to, get a referral ASAP and your shoulder checked out. Take care

  • There are 18 tender points that are checked for fibro, and one of the most common symptoms is sleep disorders.

A rheumatologist would be the one to see for fibro, but it sounds like you would be better off seeing an orthopaedic specialist; has anybody done any x-rays or scans of your shoulder?
