Hello everyone.. I am new here and thanks for the warm welcome(CATH) on my earlier post.. MY previous post was in reference to my LUMBAR but i have been through all this mess before with my cervical.. When I say mess I mean PT, neuros, orthopedics, doc's, mri's, etc.. I recall everyone telling me I have STENOSIS in my cervical, but NO ONE ever offered to tell me WHY I have it? Is that a legit question?
I am little slow sometimes:o), but from my recent research on my LUMBAR issues I think some people state WHY THEY HAVE STENOSIS.... I have NOT seen a NEURO yet for my new condition(suppose to in a few weeks) but was curious if we could tell by my MRI what is the cause of my stenosis from the written report.
ALSO my father said the NEURO may want to know the MESSAURE MENT of my CENTRAL CANAL STENOSIS(I guess how bad it is)..
Is this a good question to ask my NEURO?
L3-L4 - A broad-based disc herniation is seen. There is also bilateral facet and ligamentous hypertrophy. There is moderate bilateral neuroforaminal narrowing and mild central canal stenosis.
L4-L5 - A broad-based disc herniation is seen. There is also bilateral facet and ligamentous hypertrophy. There is moderate bilateral neuroforaminal narrowing and moderate central canal stenosis.
L5-S1 - A central herniation slightly indents the ventral aspect of the thecal sac causing central canal stenosis.
Sorry i open a new thread but i thought it would make sense in reference to understanding the CAUSE of stenosis..
